Weekend of Joyful Creations

Hi friends!
Joyful Creations has been busy making a mark on Baton Rouge. Friday was the busiest day of all. My friend, Jennifer, at Corks N Canvas offered me the laudable opportunity to display my arts and crafts there during the city's White Light Night Art Hop. Click here for more info. What a prime location! Live music, free food and drinks, and even a massage therapist. I used my birthday cupcake display again to showcase my delightful, delicious looking Joyful Cupcake Ornaments. This time, I brought along my little baker, Tiff. *smile* Isn't she adorable? I covered her cookies with a cupcake. She's been so busy baking! The cupcakes were a HUGE hit. Looks like there will be something Joyful adorning lots of Christmas trees this year.

On the same night, Joyful Creations was kicking off the 38th Annual Broadmoor Arts & Crafts Festival. How did I accomplish that? Well, I have an amazing mother and sister. They filled in for me. You know by now that I can always depend on them to help me prepare for shows and to work with me during the shows, but this was so humbling for me that they would run my booth while I made my premiere at White Light Night. So humbling that I am going to have to do something extra special for them. Hmmm...
Look at these happy customers shopping with Mom and Candace.

Mya was there, too! This was the most excited she's ever been about the craft show. She really understood that people were buying all of the stuff that Tee Tee made. She was doing a little shopping, too :)
Mom said that the night started out slow, but picked up and lots of people came looking for Joyful Creations. I do have the best customers!
The second day was awesome, and guess who came back? Mom and Candace!!! We didn't take many pictures. Customers seemed to come in waves so it was hard to pause for pics. Cupcakes, magnets, notebooks and post-it easels (what Mya was holding up) were flying. I sold out of post-it easels and the cupcakes are really low.
This picture was taken when the popular magnet wall got low.

My most sentimental customer with her mom and the items she purchased. She found meaning in everything I made. Such a JOY!

She window shopped then left to get cash. She came back and bought all kinds of creations :) Love it!
I know that I haven't shared stories from the show, but there are many. Like the lady who recognized my work without me being there or the man who left my booth to find a bank so that he could buy a cupcake ornament for his girlfriend. I could tell you about my high school classmate who surprised me with a bite to eat while I was alone and starving at my booth during White Light Night or the man who brought me a drink or the FREE massage I got there, too. I could tell you about the lady I prayed with for her healing or the wonderful friends even from Starbucks who shopped with me. Oh, and the lady who recognized my website address on my business card because she's visited my blog before. She knew that I made cards and even that I have a son. Speaking of my son, Triston and my Dad helped me set up and breakdown as usual. I so appreciate my family! God gets the glory in it all. Well, there's one thing I want to especially give God glory about and that is the fact that He prospered the works of my hands. I prayed that I would make enough money to clear my car repair bill, and I did. Praise God!!!
